Musetta date back to 1998, when the early pop careers of Matteo Curcio and Marinella Mastrosimone converged. The musical roots of the duo are various: while Matteo got his background in electronic music since Kraftwerk and the german cosmic music scene of the 70s while studying jazz, Marinella started studying jazz standards and later on the Indian classical music, taking private lessons at the Benares Hindustani University. Background wise Musetta are Italian duo Matteo Curcio and Marinella Mastrosimone who have intermittently been working together on various projects / bands since the late 90's. The 'Musetta' EP is the duo's first recorded work as Musetta and acts as a tasty introduction ahead of their near completed forthcoming debut full length, which will be soon released for the italian IRMA label, and see the co-production, amongst others, of Rob Ellis, former PJ Harvey /Tricky / Placebo producer.
